Das Ausstellungsprojekt SCHAU* verwandelt leere Schaufenster im Stadtzentrum von Haag in außergewöhnliche Präsentationsorte zeitgenössischer Kunst. Besucher*innen können die Werke entweder zufällig beim Vorbeigehen entdecken oder im Rahmen geführter Touren vertiefend erleben. Die Eröffnung findet vor der Kunst- und Kulturwerkstatt „ent“ statt, begleitet von Konzerten.
Schaufenster, traditionell Orte des Konsums, werden hier als Kommunikationsräume genutzt. Sie verbinden Innen- und Außenraum, regen durch die gezeigte Kunst zum gesellschaftspolitischen Diskurs an und eröffnen neue Perspektiven. Der Asterisk (*) im Titel unterstreicht Diversität und Wandel, ein zentrales Anliegen des Formats, das Kunst als Impulsgeber für Austausch und Reflexion versteht.

Die unvergleichliche Alicia Edelweiss bringt ihr neues Album FURIE auf die Bühne! Mit poetischen Texten, cineastischen Klängen und ihrer einzigartigen Mischung aus Musik und Performance schafft sie Live-Erlebnisse, die tief berühren und begeistern. Alicias Debütalbum „When I’m enlightened, everything will be better“(2019) machte sie zu einer der spannendsten Stimmen der österreichischen Indie-Szene. Ihre Texte sind poetisch, skurril und oft von einer melancholischen Tiefe geprägt. Musikalisch wechselt sie mühelos zwischen Akkordeon, Gitarre,Ukulele und Klavier. Mit FURIE präsentiert die Musikerin ein Album, das vor Vielfalt strotzt und Emotionen entfesselt. Das Werk erscheint am 25.04.2025 und verbindet vielschichtige Klanglandschaften mit tiefgründigen Geschichten – eine musikalische Reise, die Instinkte, Intuition und ungezähmte Emotionen thematisiert.In Begleitung ihrer Band präsentiert Alicia neben ihrem neuen Album auch Highlights ihres bisherigen Repertoires.Christian Pausch von FM4 schreibt: „Die Lieder von Alicia Edelweiss bringen uns zum Lachen, bereiten uns Gänsehaut, erschüttern uns in ihrer Sanftheit, und zerreißen die Stille, wenn es die Geschichte des Liedes verlangt. beauchamp*geissler sind ein 2022 in Wien gegründetes Duo bestehend aus Marta Beauchamp am Cello bzw. an der Bassgitarre und Stefan Geissler am Klavier und weiteren Tasteninstrumenten. Gesang und Electronics beiderseits. Sie spielen eine auffallend diverse Mischung aus freier Improvisation, Electronica und dem was im weiteren Sinne als “Popmusik” bezeichnet werden könnte, gesungen auf Englisch, Italienisch und Deutsch. Regelmäßige internationale Auftritte, u.a. bei Medienkunstfestivals (Ars Electronica Linz, lab30 Augsburg, WIP Nicosia). Veröffentlichungen bislang: Album “0_00_0__0” (2023) sowie die EP “0__0_0” (2024) auf „Goldgelb Records” und die EP “dato marginale” (2024) auf “sama recordings”. beauchamp*geisslers zweites Album wird im Herbst 2025 auf „sama recordings“ erscheinen.

Verdrehte Buchstaben fordern Achtsamkeit: Wie genau müssen wir hinsehen, um einander wirklich zu erkennen? Wo beginnt das Gemeinsame im Wort, im Blick, im stillen Verstehen?
Katya Dimova ist Künstlerin und Kunstvermittlerin, die Natur und Gemeinschaft in ihre Werke integriert. Mit Zeichnungen, Textilkunst und interaktiven Projekten erforscht sie, wie Menschen mit ihrer Umgebung in Verbindung treten. Ihre Arbeiten laden zum Dialog über Veränderung und solidarische Verantwortung ein.

Amanda Frøslev Koch-Nielsen | Pure Muscle

Pure Muscle präsentiert eine Kolonie von Nacktschnecken, deren Schleimspuren den Titel der Arbeit über ein Schaufenster schreiben. Die Installation lädt zur Auseinandersetzung mit Verletzlichkeit und Marginalisierung ein und stellt gängige Vorstellungen von Monumentalität infrage. Durch die Konfrontation des Öffentlichen mit dem Intimen regt Pure Muscle dazu an, über übersehene Geschichten in unserer kollektiven Erinnerung zu diskutieren. Dominante Erzählungen werden hinterfragt und die Geschichte durch neue Blickwinkel ergänzt.
Amanda F. Koch-Nielsen beschäftigt sich in skulpturalen Arbeiten mit Monumentalität im öffentlichen Raum und nutzt spekulative Fiktion für eine feministische und queere Auseinandersetzung mit kollektiver Erinnerung.

Lisa Großkopf erforscht in ihrer künstlerischen Praxis gesellschaftliche Systeme. Ihre Arbeiten sind national und international ausgestellt, in Sammlungen vertreten und vielfach ausgezeichnet.

Hannes Gröblacher | Wink Back – ein peripheres Grußritual

An den Ortseinfahrten von Haag winkt der Künstler Hannes Gröblacher zwei Tage lang im Bademantel Pendler:innen zu. Die performative Geste des Grußes – schlicht und übertrieben zugleich – schafft flüchtige Verbindungen im durchrationalisierten Verkehrsraum. Das Ritual irritiert, berührt, wird gefilmt, geteilt, erinnert. Eine Reflexion folgt im Stadtraum: Schaufenster zeigen Spuren, Kommentare und mediale Nachhallmomente des Grußakts.

Safina Kimbokota | Salama (Safe)

Diese Installation untersucht Sicherheit, Mutterschaft und den weiblichen Körper aus tansanischer Sicht. Inspiriert vom Song Salama kontrastiert sie den Schutz des Mutterleibs mit den Gefahren der Außenwelt. Licht und recyceltes Metall erzeugen eine dichte Atmosphäre. Safina war im März/April Artist-in-Residence in der Kunst und Kulturwerkstatt ent.
Safina Kimbokota ist eine tansanische Künstlerin. Sie thematisiert mit Metall, Stoff und Fundstücken Mutterschaft, Tabus und weibliche Widerstandskraft und schafft Räume für Dialog und Heilung.

Christine Schörkhuber | Demokratieknäuel

Das Demokratieknäuel ist eine dreidimensionale Installation aus Klang und Garn für das Schaufenster. Definitionen und Ausführungen des Demokratiebegriffs aus verschiedenen rechtlichen, lexikalischen und philosophischen Ansätzen sind Ausgangspunkt einer elektroakustischen Komposition. Die Aussagen werden durch ein Knäuel geschickt – verdreht, verhallt, geloopt, verdoppelt und fragmentiert – und durch den musikalischen Prozess neu kontextualisiert. Das Stück ist durch Transducer an der Scheibe von außen wie innen zu hören.
Christine Schörkhuber lebt in Wien und arbeitet als Medien- und Klangkünstlerin sowie Kulturarbeiterin. Ihre Arbeiten verbinden Klang, Raum und Elektronik. Sie engagiert sich in Netzwerken, Initiativen und Festivals zwischen Kunst, Politik und Technik.

Meine Arbeit behandelt Wildheit, Angst, Einsamkeit und Isolation und transformiert diese in dekorative Formen. Die Installation besteht aus Objekten, die wie Fragmente eines größeren Bildes wirken. Sie lädt ein, narrative Ebenen zu entfalten, Hierarchien aufzulösen und Diversität anzuerkennen.
Olga Shcheblykina lebt in Wien und Linz. Sie arbeitet mit Malerei, Skulptur und Installation – oft in Kombination. Ihre Werke zeichnen sich durch kräftige Farben, unregelmäßige Texturen und körperliche Raumbezüge aus.

The exhibition project SCHAU* transforms vacant shop windows in the city centre of Haag into unique venues for contemporary art. Passerby can discover the works by chance or engage with them more deeply through guided tours. The opening takes place in front of the „ent“ art and culture workshop and is accompanied by live concerts.
Traditionally spaces of consumption, shop windows are here reimagined as places of communication. They connect interior and exterior, spark sociopolitical discourse through the art on display, and open up new perspectives. The asterisk (*) in the title highlights diversity and transformation—core values of the format, which sees art as a catalyst for exchange and reflection.

The incomparable Alicia Edelweiß brings her new album FURIE to the stage! With poetic lyrics, cinematic soundscapes, and her unique blend of music and performance, she creates live experiences that deeply move and captivate audiences. Alicia’s debut album When I’m enlightened, everything will be better (2019) established her as one of the most compelling voices in Austria’s indie scene. Her lyrics are poetic, whimsical, and often marked by melancholic depth. Musically, she moves effortlessly between accordion, guitar, ukulele, and piano. With FURIE, Alicia presents an album bursting with variety and emotional intensity. Set to be released on 25 April 2025, it combines multilayered soundscapes with profound storytelling—a musical journey exploring instinct, intuition, and untamed emotion. Accompanied by her band, Alicia will perform pieces from her new album alongside highlights from her earlier repertoire. Christian Pausch of FM4 writes: “Alicia Edelweiß’s songs make us laugh, give us goosebumps, shake us with their gentleness, and tear through the silence when the story demands it. beauchampgeissler is a duo formed in Vienna in 2022, consisting of Marta Beauchamp on cello and bass guitar and Stefan Geissler on piano and various keyboard instruments, with both contributing vocals and electronics. Their music is a strikingly diverse blend of free improvisation, electronica, and what might broadly be called “pop music,” featuring lyrics in English, Italian, and German. They regularly perform internationally, including appearances at media art festivals such as Ars Electronica Linz, lab30 Augsburg, and WIP Nicosia. Their releases to date include the album 0_00_0__0 (2023) and the EP 0__0_0 (2024) on “Goldgelb Records,” as well as the EP dato marginale (2024) on “sama recordings.” beauchampgeissler’s second full-length album is set to be released in autumn 2025 on “sama recordings.”

Pure Muscle presents a colony of slugs whose slime trails form the title of the piece across a storefront window. The installation invites contemplation on vulnerability and marginalization, challenging conventional ideas of monumentality. By exposing the public to the intimately private, Pure Muscle encourages discussions about overlooked stories in our collective memory. The dominant narratives that are usually prioritized are called into question, inviting a reevaluation of history and identity through the lens of the unnoticed and the fragile.
Amanda F. Koch-Nielsen’s sculptural interactions explore monumentalism by utilizing familiar materials in public spaces. Her work is prompting dialogue around existing norms through the lens of speculative fiction, fostering a feminist and queer discourse within contemporary art, which urge us to reconsider what we accept as our collective memory.

At the entrances to the town of Haag, artist Hannes Gröblacher greets commuters for two days wearing a bathrobe. The performative gesture of greeting – both simple and exaggerated – creates fleeting connections within the rationalized space of traffic. The ritual is disconcerting, touching; it is filmed, shared, remembered. A reflection follows in the urban space: shop windows display traces, comments, and media echoes of the act of greeting.

This installation explores safety, motherhood, and the female body through a Tanzanian lens. Inspired by the song Salama, it contrasts womb protection with outside dangers. Light, sound, and recycled metal create a dense atmosphere.

The „Demokratieknäuel“ is a three-dimensional installation of sound and yarn for the shop window. Definitions and descriptions of the concept of democracy from legal, lexical, and philosophical sources form the basis of an electroacoustic composition. These statements are sent through a tangle – twisted, reverberated, looped, doubled, and fragmented – and are recontextualized through the musical process. The piece can be heard from inside and outside via transducers on the glass.
Christine Schörkhuber lives in Vienna and works as a media and sound artist and cultural worker. Her works combine sound, space, and electronics. She is active in networks, initiatives, and festivals at the intersection of art, politics, and technology.

On display, objects and images bear the traces of illusory and deceptive appearances. They operate as references of a common memory that has been for some reason distorted. To enhance the immersive experience and create a bizarre loop, Zastava brings a couple kinetic elements into the composition.
